La POUBELLE

Bistro Menu & Signage

Role:  Art Direction, Design

La Poubelle Bistro was first opened in 1969 in Franklin Village, an enchanting little corner of Hollywood, California. Now almost five decades later, La Poubelle’s renowned French eats are a Tinseltown staple. When the restaurant decided to a menu and storefront design overhaul, I was so excited to help them through the process.

Designing a menu for a French Bistro calls for a lot of research on French-inspired design and typography (and of course some taste-testing)! Through the use of wide set kerning, elegant serif fonts, and the right compartmentalization of the menu items, we combined classic French elegance with modern Hollywood – into these beautiful pieces.
